FAQ:

- Do you exchange? Yes, Finn Moto pays for postage to send a new size out. You'll pay for postage to return after everything fits.
- This is the tested raw blue 881 jean on moto cap, position number 1 (5 star rated).

Introducing our new "881 Protective" - Raw Blue Protective Denim Motorcycle Jeans with additional full lined 100% genuine terry loop knitted Dupont KEVLAR® fiber. The combination of aramid blended single layer denim plus fully lined from waist to ankle, front & back with >350gsm protective liner which passed Satra UK level 2 en13595;2002 abrasion test lasting >7 seconds and now rated 5 stars on the Motocap website. These premium protective jeans are now the same thickness and weight as the level 1, providing you comfort all season with its airmax mesh lining. They keep you warm in the colder season & nights and cool during summer.

CE level 2 armour is included at knees and hips. The knee armour (<15kn) pocket allows two heights and the hip armour (<16kn) pocket is fixed position so it doesn't float around. Its recommended to wear the hip armour, the pants have been made to accommodate the hip armour without effecting the fit when standing or sitting on the bike. The new hip armour is comfortable, taking up minimal room whilst still performing at or below <16kn which keeps up with other high end armours. The jeans fit comfortable with the armour installed in motorcycle seat position.

Many customers comment how breathable the pants are when riding. eg "30°C in QLD, feels like 40°C were surprisingly breathable and comfortable to wear whilst riding on fast roads". Romania 40°C days, "whilst riding the Kevlar lining acted like insulation and could feel the airflow. January 2026 Australia tour down under SA Ambulance "The pants performed brilliantly! I rode in 43°C and today with high humidity, they are very comfortable."

The original version was standard denim & >550gsm protective liner, the problem was it was on the thicker and heavier side, which was great for customers in colder climates, but not so good when off the bike walking around. To achieve the same great protection the new 881 has been made with a stronger outer material and fully lined with a robust well balanced weight, proven protective liner, with armour included at hips and knees. Motocaps December 2024 test results of 5 stars is the current model.

The pants have been made to our strict standard for performance, comfort & looks. Only the highest quality materials & stitchers are used.

Finnmoto independently tests the protective lining & denim used in its jeans. The impact abrasion test meets level 2 protection throughout the protective denim and 340gsm lined jeans for 13595-1: 2002 5.4 abrasion protection from Satra Technologies UK. (>7 seconds of abrasion = level 2) and has recently achieved 9.31 seconds from Motocap Australia, achieving the highest star rating 5/5. ref: https://motocap.com.au/product/881-protective

Latest test rating promoting "AAA" only requires material that lasts 2.5 seconds on the Cambridge machine. Australian roads are rougher and mostly chip seal its recommended you wear jeans closer to 4 seconds.

Motocap explanation: The Darmstadt impact abrasion test machine is designed to simulate garments sliding across an asphalt surface, whereas the Cambridge machine simulates rougher surfaces. The Darmstadt machine replicates the European road network that is predominantly smooth asphalt. Whilst most urban areas in larger cities and towns in Australia and New Zealand do have asphalt surfaces, almost all rural roads are chip seal. Chip seal roads are four and a half times more abrasive than asphalt. Recent on-road trials in Australia and New Zealand have confirmed that testing on the Cambridge machine accurately simulates sliding on chip seal road surfaces. These trials have validated the Cambridge impact abrasion test as the more appropriate method for Australian and New Zealand motorcycle clothing, and addresses the most challenging road surface clothing might encounter, as well as less abrasive city streets; hence why it is used by MotoCAP. ref https://www.motocap.com.au/frequently-asked-questions

The actual measurements listed in the size chart below are in (INCH'S), recommended to use dress tape measure.

'Jean size' refers to the label size; true Australian jean size.
You can cross reference by measuring the circumference of your bodies waist line, match it upto 'recommended waist circumference'.
To triple check you can grab your existing good fitting jeans, lay them flat & measure across top waist as in picture below.

The sizing guide is our average leg cut / 32inch (fits approx height 170cm to 185m).
Short leg is 2inch shorter / 30inch (<170cm).
Long leg is 2inch longer / 34inch. (>185cm)

When comparing the inner leg its important you sit on the bike and gauge the length needed to cover ankle. Take note of the difference.
Measure from crotch seam, follow down to the ankle seam and apply the difference.

17inch across the top waist will be a size 34. Inner leg 32inch will be average leg.

If you normally wear a standard size 34 in Australia, you will fit in our size 34.
Measuring your bodies belt line it should measure 36inch waist circumference.

    Terrific pants 12 months on

Posted by Sam on 13th Sep 2026

I've now been running these pants for over 12 months and still love them every time I put them on. Several washes later and they are still soft and pliable. Held their colour and not wearing much at all. They have done 8000km of road, dirt, mud, nothing bothers them. Excellent product

    Love These Jeans

Posted by Scott on 7th Sep 2026

I'm a new rider and was pretty scared to go out on long rides in the city before I got these jeans. This gave me the confidence I needed to ride. Comparing these to my other "riding jeans", it's literally night and day. The material is great quality. The team was amazing and answered all my questions in order to get the right pair. I can't wait to purchase another pair.

    Amazing protective jeans

Posted by Eastburn Smith on 31st Aug 2026

Fantastic jeans, fit well very comfortable, and protection is the highest on motocap. Knee pads very easy to adjust to the proper fit. To be honest, I did have to change them out for a ce1 that was more breathable as I teach Qride and wear them all day long in Queensland. I do put the ce2 back in on ride days. I have been telling all the classes about them on our gear talk. Great for everyday use (I don't own a car). I will be getting another pair as my other jeans get retired, to switch completely to Finn. Would absolutely love it if they came in a lighter color say pail blue, as again I am out in the sun, everything helps. Not a fan of black gear on a bike.

Finn Moto 881: The Ultimate Riding Jeans

Posted by Tom on 31st Aug 2026

The Finn Moto Protective Denim Motorcycle Jeans 881 are an absolute game-changer for me on safety and comfort. The premium stretch denim offers an incredible, unrestricted fit that moves naturally, completely eliminating the stiff, binding feeling common with typical riding jeans. Beyond the outstanding comfort, knowing these jeans are reinforced with premium protection delivers unmatched peace of mind on every twist and turn, proving that you can genuinely have top protection without sacrificing the casual look and feel of your favorite denim jeans. Excellent!

    Great product and service

Posted by Darren Stables on 30th Aug 2026

Excellent process from start to finish. Matt ensures you are ordering the correct size by asking you to take some measurements. He then recommends a size for you but will accept returns of sizing is not correct. Great product. Very heavy jeans indicating good quality. Very happy

    881 jeans

Posted by Amit on 30th Aug 2026

Two seperate comments I have One, the jeans fit like a beauty and are so comfortable right away. The stretch made me wonder if I had taken a size too big. And that leads me to my second comment. The service that you get here is superlative. Despite him possibly knowing that I was on a wild goose chase, he still shipped two other choices for size just so that I was totally comfortable. I finally am keeping the one that was originally sent. Amazing product and even better service.

    Amazing pants!

Posted by Cory R. on 30th Aug 2026

Really appreciated the attention to detail and the personal touch. The jeans fit perfect, the mesh feels great on the skin, pads were where they should be and they've got plenty of give so no matter the leg position they feel awesome. Shipping all the way to the US was effortless too! If you want maximum protection jeans, these are the ones to get.

    great jeans really comfortable

Posted by Scott on 29th Aug 2026

Absolutely love these jeans. They’re super comfortable, feel seriously heavy-duty, and the quality is excellent. With a 5-star MotoCAP safety rating, they’re also among the safest motorcycle jeans you can buy, which gives me a lot more confidence when riding. The Finn Moto 881s have definitely won me over. Comfortable, tough, and highly rated for protection — they’re the only riding jeans I’ll be buying from now on. Highly recommended.

    Very Happy

Posted by Jack on 28th Aug 2026

While I happily can't rate the protective qualities of these 881's, MOTOCap's test report gives me confidence. What I can say is that customer support has been very good, the fit is right on, comfort is good and they seem to be well made. Assuming MOTOCap's testing is legit, these jeans will make you rethink your protective riding gear strategy.
