Installation Instructions
Note: Loctite is highly recommended. 245 medium strength or 261 high strength.

1. Remove the two screws (4.5mm) holding the fender strut cover from the RH side of the fender. Remove and store the fender strut cover.

2. Remove the larger hex head bolt (10mm bolt / 14mm socket) at the front of the exposed fender strut. Slide the 10mm socket head bolt through the short docking post, the 10mm hole in the side plate, and the 10mm hole in the spacer; apply loctite, hand tighten into the vacant 10mm hole in the fender strut. (note: you may need to compress or lift bike for bolt to go through two parts).

3. Remove the smaller hex head bolt (8mm bolt / 12mm socket) at the rear of the exposed fender strut. Slide the 8mm socket head bolt through the long docking post, 8mm hole in the side plate, and the 10mm spacer; apply loctite; thread into the vacant 8mm hole in the fender strut. Tighten both bolts evenly.

4. Repeat steps 1, 2 & 3 on the LH side of the fender.

5. Install the EASY BRACKETS on the docking posts. Note: Use the key provided to open the cam lock prior to installation on the docking posts. The key cannot be removed until the cam lock is fully engaged under the docking post. *See 650s pointers sheet.

6. Hold the RH saddlebag against the BRACKETS. Position the saddlebag as desired noting the clearances from the seat, turn signals and any lower obstructions such as chain guards, axle nuts, etc. Mark the outer edge of the bracket on the saddlebag. Remove the BRACKET from the motorcycle.

7. Place the bracket on the saddlebag within the outline and drill the 4 holes for mounting. Attach the bracket to the saddlebag using the (4) 3/8 x 1inch stainless button head bolts, (8) 3/8 fender washers, and (4) 3/8 Nylon locking nuts (All 4 mounting points MUST be used). Slide on the completed RH saddlebag with brackets on the motorcycle. Note: The cam lock must be fully engaged, and the key removed to ensure the brackets are properly installed and ready for use.

8. Repeat steps 5, 6 and 7 on the LH side of the fender.

Do NOT exceed excessive weight, limit 7kg. of total weight on the BRACKET saddlebag removal system. Designed for sealed roads only.

Kawasaki 650s specific fit pointers.

  • Replace bolts one and a time, if bolt is not going through easy, look through bolt hole and make sure the two parts of the frame haven’t moved, if so you’ll need to push down on the seat or lift up a little whilst sliding in the bolt to find its way.
  • When tightening with the cover plate it will take shape the tighter you go; tighten little bits at a time between the 8mm and 10mm like tightening a car tyre.
  • The 8mm powder coat hex head is a little thick; use a 7/32 Allen key to tighten rather than a 6mm. The 10mm bolt should work fine with the 8mm hex head other wise a 5/16 will do the trick.
  • The cover plate will take shape when tightening between the two evenly.
  • The new brackets are a snug fit; the bracket might need to be “clicked” on to smooth out any thick powder coating prior to installing. Doing one hole at a time is easier to ''prime', then slide the bracket on normally.
  • Removing and mounting the bags/brackets onto the docking post is quick and easy so long as the bag/bracket is moved in the correct planes when doing so. Being a snug fit, if the bag/bracket is pulled out or pushed in too far at the bottom or the front/rear are not pulled off in unison it can snag on the posts. wd-40 helps and seesaw motion to wiggle loose helps. Not reefing it but a swift upwards motion works. Worst case scenario; a little tap with a mallet or bit of wood will move it. If this happens regularly we’ll machine down your docking posts a little more.
  • For most accurate and best position when fitting saddlebags; drill top front hole first, secure bracket to bags using stainless hardware head of bolt goes inside bag (will need short socket bit to fit or use wrench and create a handle through hole for leverage), put bracket & bags on bike, pivot bag up and down to find the perfect line and mark bracket and bottom holes, take off bike and drill the 3 remaining holes. Take bracket off and transfer these holes to the other bag and use as a starting point. Visit website Finnmoto>Productreview>How To Fit Easy Brackets Saddlebag Guide – Australia.
  • When positioning the saddlebag for model 510slim and 510, lower you can get it the better it looks. Unfortunately, the bracket mounting holes will be near the metal support frame; You can drill through it but be mindful the rear hole will most likely fit just below it, which means you’ll need to pack out 5mm with half washers. To avoid this you can raise up the bag approx. 25mm but then the top of the bag is close to the passenger seat base line which doesn’t look as good. If you purchased the 510 slim or 510, half washers are being added in with your kit.
  • Its easier to open the saddlebag lid to get access to the bracket lock.
